Thanks for writing in! I'm sorry to hear that you're having trouble with the AWS console. I have some questions for you to help me figure out what's going on and how best to help you.

Can you please send me the following:

    • Course>lesson>page name along with the classroom link, and link for the exercise you're having trouble with, as well as a full-page screenshot of the error message you're seeing?

    • How exactly did you encounter this error? Please share with us the detailed steps that you followed.

    • Are you using any browser extensions? Sometimes third-party extensions can interfere with our site. I would recommend trying to access our website from an Incognito window and/or disabling your browser extensions to see if that helps. Please whitelist the following URL in your browser- *.udacity.com

    Course: Data Engineering

    Lesson: Cloud Data Warehouses

Page: Any page within this lesson

I encountered the error by simply clicking on the LAUNCH CLOUD GATEWAY button. It doesn't work anywhere in this lesson, however it did not too long ago.

It is not an issue with a third-party extension. Using incognito mode and changing browsers entirely did not resolve the issue.

    Thanks,

    David

    Hi, David G

I took a look in your classroom and was able to successfully launch the cloud console. I used chrome to launch. Could you try again at your earliest convenience? Thank you

    Hello Chris,

    Course: Cloud Developer

Lesson: Cloud Fundamentals -> Deploy Static Website on AWS

I receive the error message shown below.

    I'm using Firefox as browser.

For me, the problem is currently solved using Opera as browser.

    Best Regards

    David

    Hi Chris

I've tried on Chrome, Edge, Opera.. no luck. Could it be because the lesson is "Past Due"? I wouldn't think this would matter since the course is meant to be self-paced.

    Thanks,

    David

No, it shouldn't be that as you are not enrolled in a scholarship program. Project deadlines are suggested deadlines. The deadlines are intended to help keep you on track and reach your goals. You can always keep paying per month if you need more time to complete your Nanodegree program, single paid course, or Executive Program.

Same here. Worst is it did lock me out literally just after I had launched 2 large EC2s, RDS and more in different regions. So I can't even terminate the instances - my credits are going bye bye.... :(

Thanks Chris. It was apparently fixed for the 2nd part of my course, however it is still showing error for the 3rd part (Design for Security) :(

After further discussing this with our dedicated content and technical teams we would like to confirm the EC2 concurrency limit set to 4 is accurate.

However, we understand the project instructions were different from these limitations. Hence we have further raised this with our content team to update the instructions in the classroom.

Meanwhile, we recommend working on 4 EC@ instances first and taking the relevant screenshots and then the remaining two. This should help complete the project without the consle getting blocked.

After a lot of conversations, we have come to understand that the following deactivation of learner accounts is happening due to learners crossing some policies limit that have been set. Basically, the learners are creating more than 4 concurrent EC2 instances and running them whereas the limit is 4.

I have sent this to our tech team to troubleshoot for you.

Please be informed that your current AWS usage stands at $30.03 (consumed budget) out of a budget of $25.

We recommend closing the console and the instances when not in use to ensure that you don't run over your available budget.

Please also make sure to choose the correct cluster size (size of each node in the cluster) along with the type of EC2 instance. Kindly reach out to the mentor over Knowledge to understand what all instances are required while performing tasks on the AWS console.

If you need instructions on how to navigate Knowledge, please refer to our Help Center articles here.

You need to make sure that you have an adequate budget available to complete your project/task. If you hit your budget, your session will time out and your work will be lost and unrecoverable.

Udacity will not provide additional credits. In case you exhaust your credits:

    • You will lose your progress on the AWS console.
    • You will have to use your personal AWS account to finish the remaining ND.

Learn how to track your usage on Amazon Web Services console by clicking here. Additionally, please refer to the link here for the best practices to avoid unexpected AWS Charges. For further clarity, you can check out the AWS Billing and Charges walkthrough.

    Hi Chris,

fully understand. I might not have deleted all applications that I created.

The introduction tells that our AWS budget is $75. Therefore I should be able to continue on the Udacity account, right?

(see AWS CLOUD ARCHITECT -> WELCOME TO THE AWS CLOUD ARCHITECT NANODEGREE PROGRAM -> AWS Cloud Architect program introduction)

    Best,
    Christopher

Thanks, Christopher David!  I see you currently have a budget of $25 instead of $75. Let me send this to our team to get your AWS budget updated. Sorry for the inconvenience.

    Hi Chris

I used my private AWS account to complete the first assigement, because it might be that the cost limit is $25 per assigment (3*$25 = 75$)

Now I want to start the second assigmement for the course but I again get the same Error message, even I didn't do any exercise in the AWS account for the second part of the course.

I also didn't get any answer from the team that my AWS account is reactivated. I do not hope that they reactivate the account, didn't tell me and now in the meantime the budget is >$75. In this case I would be very disappointed.

    Best,
    Christopher
